Photo Usage I found some cool photos here, can I post these cosplay photos on my website/blog/gallery/where ever? No. The photographs taken at the various conventions we attend are for this site only. Now if you are IN the photo in question... You got a good photo of me, can I use it on my website/blog/gallery/etc. ? Yes. If you are the/a costumer in the photo, then you can use it. If we got a LOT of photos of you, as in say one of our Special Edition photo galleries, then you may use up to half of the photos there. A fair trade no? Half for you, half for us. When other sites let you use far less, this policy is crazy eh? We dont think so, we figure since you get so much, you would be more inclined to give us a link back ;) (hint hint, nudge nudge) You took a *bunch* of good photos of me, how many can I use? This depends. Our policy stands as you may use up to HALF (round up) of the photos we took of you on YOUR own personal website. (for those who dont know, a website is NOT a MySpace page, a Fotki, a photobucket, a gallery on wherever. A site is something that is under your own personal address. Personal web pages accepted.) However, you may post up to 10% of the photos we take of you in one of those mass gallery sites. We request that on those photo dump sites that you place a link back to us in addition to simply crediting "DeathCom Multimedia". If the site allows a "hot link" back to us, then you can post up to the usual 50% there. Keep in mind that most of those gallery sites out there reduce the quality of the photos. You will always show off your costume in the highest quality available by sending people back here. I bought a print off you guys, can I scan it and post it on my site? NO. Prints sold at conventions are not authorized for duplication and or transmission / broadcast without permission from DeathCom Multimedia directly. You can however use the digital copy if its available on the site. I would like my photo removed from this website. What do I do? Contact the site administrator DeathCom. Photos will be removed upon request for the following good reasons: Your a closet otaku and dont want to be seen on the *gasp* intarweb. A parent or guardian deems it inappropriate for you to appear on the internet. There is a random hallway photo you feel is unflattering to you. If we are dealing with more than a few casual hallway photos or Special Edition photos being removed, the issue will be resolved on a case by case basis. Video Usage Can I post my skit on YouTube/Google/Yahoo-video? NO! This is strictly prohibited and enforced. Those video trash heaps are counter productive to our cause. They take away visitors from this site, and worst of all, they totally degrade the quality content we offer here. They recompress our already compressed stream in a much lower bitrate resulting in just awful quality. They distort our native 16x9 format and squeeze it into 4x3 further distorting our work. There have been many offenses to this standing policy and while not naming anyone, we may find it necessary to simply ban groups who continue to post "their" skit on said sites from our releases. Or worse, turn to a much more annoying format like Real Media or Quicktime. Can I post my skit on my site? YES! If you know how to cut the skit out, and recompress it decently keeping our aspect ratio in tact and all. Its no problem if you post your skit on your site (note: your site means the video is stored on your server space).
