To schedule a photoshoot you MUST use one the links provided below. We do this for multiple reasons firstly it provides ORGANIZATION to how we setup our schedule.

Pricing at conventions in which we have a photo booth setup:

  • For each additional costumer + $10 and you get an additional 8.5x11" print

When you fill out the Email and replace the -INSERT- parts with appropriate information.

We will also need ADDITIONAL information including but not limited to:

  • Your name and online handle.
  • Names of others (including their online handles) in your group and who made their costumes.
  • A contact phone number for the group at the convention.
  • A photo of each costume that will be in the shoot.

Conventions DeathCom Multimedia Plans on attending:

The links above have embedded subjects. Failure to use these links may result in your request being lost and may delay your approval and response. NOTE: If a shoot says "[Preview Required]" we need said preview in the FIRST contact email. Its better to have us try and squeeze you in the week before the con than to use up a slot only to be canceled a week before the con.

Conventions marked with a * indicate we should have a booth for indoor photos.
It is STRONGLY recommended you have a cell phone in order for you to reach us at the convention should the need arise.
Weather permitting, photoshoots will be done outside. Note that it is possible that photoshoots can be canceled due to weather combined with lack of area indoors for photos. Furthermore, having a photoshoot taken does not guarantee placement in a Costumer Focus gallery.

Photoshoot / General DCM Photography FAQ:
  • How do I schedule a Photoshoot?
Use one of the above links to email DeathCom to set things up. Be sure you have fully read this page and have followed the instructions. If you dont get a response right away, don't worry. If its less than a week to the convention and you haven't heard back, do email us again.
  • Didn't photoshoots use to be free?
They still are at conventions at which we can not offer you prints on the spot. At conventions where we have a photo booth, we now basically charge you the cost of our prints. So we are not exactly charging you for the shoot, but instead charging you for prints.
  • What does "Preview Required" mean?
Pretty much how it sounds. Due to the high number of applicants for larger conventions, we instituted a preview policy to filter things more appropriately. You will need to attach a photo of your costume with your application. Keep in mind that previews are always preferred for many reasons. The foremost is so we can easilly pick you out of the crowd when we see you in person.
  • Can I get a 8.5"x11" print of MY photo?
YES! Email DeathCom for details. Prices are currently $10 + shipping ($5). PayPal accepted at DeathCom@gmail.com
  • Does the DeathCom Staff play favorites on selecting costumers?
Yes. If we see an example of a character we know done well, chances are we will ask for a photoshoot on the spot. Of course there are also personal favorite characters that we go above and beyond for. (for info on that, read up on us). We intentionally leave gaps in our convention time schedules for on the spot additions.
  • Ive seen costumers hang out at your photo booth getting TONS of photos, what's that all about?
If we have time (as in there is no line at our booth), and you have lots of ideas and love photos. We will take as many photos of you as we can. Its not a 'photoshoot' in the traditional sense. You don't need to schedule those, just be around when we aren't busy ^_^
  • Is my costume good enough for a photoshoot?
Well, if you are asking that, then we would too. Enthusiasm goes a long way. However, if you just purchased the parts and threw something together and it still looks like street clothes, we will probably turn you down. DeathCom Multimedia reserves the right to turn down any photoshoot for any reason we see fit.
  • Can I schedule a photoshoot outside of a convention?
YES! Click the bottom link above, you must be in the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area to do so.
  • Are there any restrictions on type of costumes allowed?
Some. DeathCom Multimedia staff will not accept "original" characters for free photoshoots. Variations on characters are accepted. EGL / Elegant Gothic Lolita is not accepted for it falls under "original" characters. J-rock cosplay is accepted.
  • Are there any other restrictions I should know about?
Again, some. Predetermined meet ups at convetions are not covered by our photoshoot policy. If we see the meet up, we will try to grab a hallway class shot of the group, but we will not stay and do a photoshoot there. Furthermore regarding groups. Groups should not consist of more than five people. We at DCM try to focus on the individual costumer, and large groups do not allow for time for that.
  • I had a photoshoot taken at a convention, but my photos are not on the site. What happened?
Be aware that even if you are approved for a photoshoot, there is a chance the photos may not make the cut for the site. It could happen as a result of numerous reasons, mechanical failure, minion failure, or It could be costume failure (something 'popped out' when it shouldn't have). If you are one of the very few this happens to, we will still provide photos from the event to you directly.
  • Can I request a specific photographer for my shoot?
Yes. Simply mention it in the email and we will try to accommodate. By default, we try to pair costumers up with the photographer who best knows the character and its needs.
