| Compress - Decompression Tools: |
-
WinRAR 3.0
- One of, if not the best compression software on the net. RAR archives
can span multiple files. Example, you want to put a 3MB MP3 on a 3.5in
floppy disk to bring to a friends house. With WinRAR, you can easily
compress and cut that file in half for storage on a 1.4MB floppy disk!
You will need WinRAR to decompress some of the files on this site (files
ending in RAR, r01, r02, ect.) (DCM Editor's Choice)
-
WinZip - Once
installed, WinZip can integrate with Explore (Windows explorer) for easy
access to all those zip files. No real need for this app if you have
WinRAR installed.

GoZilla! 3.5
- GoZilla! is a download manager for Windows. What it will do is let you
download all the files you want, all at once. Example, say your viewing
DCM, decide to download an intro to some game, then decide you want the
music to that game too. Meanwhile your waiting for that first file to
download, starting another with your 56K modem will just take forever.
GoZilla can capture the download locations of each file, and do them
sequentially while you sleep or so other things. (Note: GoZilla! also
supports RESUME and FTP capture. DCM currently does not have resume on
the server, but huge files are often given as FTP links which DO have
resume. GoZilla is the easiest way to capture these FTP files.) Also,
beware of later versions of GoZilla! they are much more troublesome than
3.5. (DCM Editor's Choice)
