- Report by TakagiNaoSama (and DeathCom) -

We wanted to do our rating system again for Tekko, but we didn't have a car ride home together to deliberate our con scores, so I'll just summarize our opinions of this year's Tekkoshocon :)

Con Staff: Overall the con staff treated us very well. We were able to take over the "photo area" which gave us plenty of room to set up our photo and video booths as well as all the equipment we needed to serve the cosplayers! Thank you to everyone who was so kind to us!

Expomart Staff: Definitely a group of quality people. Very understanding and eager to help out. We actually did get everyone's scores on this and I'm happy to say it was a unanimous 100%!

Game Room: Decent, but a step back from last year. They get points for having more flat panel displays, but at the same time lose points for putting crap ass gamecube games on them or games that don't even support widescreen. Also, in perhaps one of the worst tournament blunders you can make, they had scheduled a VF4 tournament... but didn't have a copy of VF4! Had we known earlier, we could have donated a copy of VF5 for the even that we had on hand, but it came to our attention after the fact.

Artist Alley: High marks were also given to Tekko's artists, as well as the space they were given. AA is set up by giant windows and there's tons of space to walk between the tables, making it very bright and open. You also can't really miss it, but it's not forced upon you, which is a plus. There is also a wide variety of artists, including very talented videogame artists, which made the DCM guys very happy, it brings hope to find some original Soul art one of these days! :)

Dealer's Room: While the dealers were given much more space than previous years, the layout was still a bit confusing. There was still a nice variety of dealers, however.

Cosplay Masquerade (tech): There were a few mistakes here and there, but overall the tech crew did a good job. They fulfilled our every request and worked with us until things were right, and did it all with courtesy and respect. We couldn't ask for anything more. You guys rock!! Thank you!!

Cosplay Masquerade (skits): Double the number of skits from last year, and double the entertainment. Tekko's still got a ways to go to catch up to the bigger conventions, but as long as the core crowd-pleasers stick around, I don't think there'll be any complaints :)

Overall Tekkoshocon impressed us again. It continues to grow and attract the kind of fun people that we're happy to know.
